The Discordian religion revolutionized the concept of spiritual authority when they declared that every man, woman and child on the planet Earth, and anywhere else, was not merely a priest, not even a high priest, bishop, or cardinal, but a true and authorized Pope, subject to no spiritual authority higher than one's self.
Discordian Buddhism follows suit, expanding the concept of the Discordian Pope to include Saints, Sadhus, and Lamas.
In Tibetan Buddhism, 'Lama' is a title given to a teacher of some renown. Perhaps the most well known is the Dalai Lama. However, as Chaos Buddhists, we are our own spiritual authority, thus everyone who listens to the hum of Chaos is a genuine and recognized Lama of the tradition of Discordian Buddhism.
Just as Discordians have and distribute Pope cards, so we have Lama cards, complete with a space for the bearer's Chaos-Dharma name. These may be downloaded, printed, and distributed as the Lama sees fit.
Some people have expressed that they would rather be a Llama than a Lama. Never let it be said that we stand in the path of anyone's spiritual growth. For the aspiring Llamas, we are happy to oblige.
